Met Gala 2014 Best Dressed

Met Ball 2014 featured

Fashion’s Night of Night’s arrived in its usual breathtaking style!  The theme for The Met Gala 2014 this year was a celebration of the Great American Courtier Charles James. We’re talking grand glamour! Enter Sarah Jessica Parker and Blake Lively.

The men had to follow Anna Wintour’s strict instructions too and wear “white tie and decorations”. I think David Beckham won ‘most dapper gent’ hands down (although he wore a black bow-tie) with Victoria Beckham as the perfect accompaniment.

My biggest disappointment on the night was Lupita Nyongo’o who normally gets it so right. I’m not sure what her outfit was supposed to be and what happened to Solange Knowles afro?? So many questions.

Here’s my Met Gala 2014 Best Dressed

Sarah Jessica Parker in Oscar de la Renta – loving the updo!

Blake Lively stole the show in Gucci

David Beckham in Ralph Lauren  and Victoria Beckham in Victoria Beckham

Beyoncé in Givenchy Couture – Smoking hot!

Dita Von looked flawless as usual in Zac Posen

 Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa..AMAZE

Suki Waterhouse – an absolute vision in Burberry

Charlize Theron was positively majestic in Dior Haute Couture

Another stunning monochrome number – Lily Donaldson in Burberry

Jessica Alba – a breathkaing vision in Diane Von Furstenberg

Leighton Meester dazzled in Emilio Pucci

A radiant Diane Kruger in powder blue Hugo Boss

  • Loved Blake Lively – old Hollywood glamour at its best. David + Victoria Beckham looked gorgeous, as usual. The structure of that Marchesa gown? WOW! I also liked Rosie Huntington-Whitely’s leather and leopard Balmain number…but mostly for myself! She didn’t look completely comfortable in it and I’m not sure it suited the theme, so I will happily take it off her hands to wear to my 30th birthday in September!

Blake Lively followed the theme to perfection! Yes I loved RHW’s dress but for a different event like your 30th!! x
