KOH SAMUI: The Perfect Holiday Destination.

The weather is getting cooler and I’m ready to book my next holiday. Since having bub my husband and I have had to change our holiday preferences to cater for our son too. Last year we opted for Koh Samui en route back from London.

I had never been to Thailand before and I wasn’t keen to go to Bangkok with the little one so after doing some research and speaking to friends we thought Koh Samui would be ideal and we were right! It was exactly what we were looking for. The perfect holiday destination for rest and relaxation after the hustle and bustle of London.

One of my fave spots was Fisherman’s Village on Bophut Beach. On Fridays there is a massive market with beautiful food, clothes and crafts. We ate at amazing restaurants right on the water (well not literally…you know what I mean), chilled on the beach and explored the island in our rental jeep. Bub loved it and I managed to do lots of shopping so I call that a success.

We did however spend a rather large amount of time in our resort. Last year we stayed at Nora Buri which was great but we want a change this year and we’ll be looking into Le Meridien Resort & Spa. The resort claimed the title of three World Travel Awards in 2012. It was the winner of Asia’s Leading New Resort, Asia’s Leading Romantic Resort and Thailand’s Leading Resort so we’re pretty keen to check it out.

The Le Meridien is located along the picturesque Lamai Beach on Koh Samui with  breathtaking views over the Gulf of Thailand and stunning landscapes. It has daily children’s activities , a fitness centre for hub, resort infinty and plunge pools with stunning views and of course a spa.  I’m pretty sure we won’t want to leave…again!

Can’t wait!

  • Can you take me too, please?! House renovations (or, more accurately, finishing them) are taking priority over travel plans for us at the moment. Eventually we would love to wing our way to the US and take in New York, LA, Vegas and Hawaii.
