What I Wore: Next Lace Dress
It seems that every week I am posting about Next dresses but that is all I am wearing at the moment. I have so many because the fit is so good and they are such a great price.
I bought this one on sale in London. I stocked up on so many over there! The London summer sales are crazy. I’m hoping to go again this year. I took the hub last year and he went absolutely nuts! We had to ship loads of boxes back. No wonder he’s so keen to return!
Anyway back to my dress. I wore it for a styling appt with a client. I love lace dresses, they are so ladylike and show just the right amount of skin. Well this one does anyway, sometimes you can get it hideously wrong. You just have to choose the right one!
The trick is to buy the right length and choose good quality material. Too short and the dress will look cheap. For day wear keep it classic and opt for a basic silhouette like a sheath dress. Also wear with minimal jewellery so you don’t look too OTT! If in doubt think Duchess Kate!
I’m getting to my pregnancy stage where I’m finding it difficult to find things to wear so I’m sticking with dresses at this point. This isn’t a maternity dress but it’s got enough stretch to be comfortable. I got so many compliments when I was out and that’s always a good sign! Buy similar here.
I paired it with an old pair of Anne Klein zebra print pumps (shop similar here). I wasn’t sure about the combo at first but I think it works? What do you think?
