My Red Lippy Hat

I was first introduced to My Red Lippy hats at the Torstar Media Open Day and I fell in love straight away! They’re so sexy and stylish and come in a gorgeous array of colours! Perfect for winter chic.

I am sporting the textured charcoal hat made from 100% merino wool. Isn’t it divine? I’m wearing it with a Gap maternity top (buy similar here), Jeanswest Maternity jeans, a Little Joe Woman fur gilet, Seed pumps (buy similar here) and YSL shades from Vision Direct.

I love to rock a big hat in winter with shades…or summer for that matter. This look hides a multitude of sins especially now I’m pregnant. I haven’t got the energy to straighten my hair every morning like I usually do. Slap on a My Red Lippy hat and suddenly I’m transformed into a mysterious, uber-chic fashionista! What’s not to love? Check out how my friend and fellow blogger Glamour Mama wears hers.

The designer Sarah Curtis has such a vibrant, bubbly personality, we got on immediately! Plus she has the most amazing dress sense. Her hats are an extension of her unique style!

Sarah has very kindly given me a hat worth $120 to giveaway to one lucky Mama Stylista reader on Instagram. Details are below! If you’re not on Instagram just leave me a comment telling me why you love hats!

Good luck!

Comp ends on 29th June – Australian Residents only.

About Sarah Curtis and My Red Lippy

History

“The love and aspiration for hats became a necessity to me after being diagnosed with a melanoma 5 months pregnant with my second child. So, it soon became a passion of mine, seeking out beautiful hats with wide brims that actually kept the sun out protecting my skin, however after much disappointment of never finding the right hat that both looked great and was fully functional ‘My Red Lippy’ was born.”

Why The Name?

“Wearing a bright red lipstick has always been a trademark of mine as I discovered too many years ago that if I wore bright red lippy it would actually brighten up my face and distract people away from my hundreds and thousands of freckles covering my face… Maybe it worked? Maybe it didn’t but either way it always made me feel 100% better and I’m still wearing it today…”

I have been a fan of wearing Hats well before it became fashionable or on the Cancer councils’ must do list. I am fair and so when in the sun I always wear a hat, but they are also great on bad hair days, as long as you never have to take it off when out 🙂 Of course they are a must at the Melbourne Cup, and now that they are once again fashionable to wear to weddings I am right in my element

  • Hats are a mamas #1 accessory because they hide a bad hair day AND add instant boho glamour to any outfit. Effortless style xx K

Not on Instagram but I still love hats
Especially a nice brim like this on the My Red Lippy Hat
When it’s worth wearing a hat you have to wear a decent one that others will notice.
I love wearing a hat as I always feel special when under one. Whether it’s raining, sunny or dull.
People take notice and I want them to.‘cause when I wear one I reckon I’m out there and special too.
