What do you do when it’s a gloriously hot Public Holiday Monday? We head to our favourite family spot…Balmoral Beach Sydney! Before bub the hub and I used to love North Bondi, Camp Cove, Redleaf, Milk Beach, all the glamorous spots. How times have changed! For the better I might add.

I love the drive to the Balmoral as much as the place itself. Situated in Mosman we pass over Anzac and Sydney Harbour bridges with stunning views of the Harbour. It gets me everytime! Sydney is such a wonderful place to live and you can never tire of looking at its beauty.

Our drive was made even better by the Ford Kuga Titanium. I have one for 6 weeks courtesy of Ford Australia and Kidspot as part of Voices of 2014 #paintthetownford challenge and I don’t even want to think about returning it. I’m 37 weeks pregnant and the hub has been the one doing the majority of the driving much to my annoyance and his pleasure.

He loves driving it and I must say I’m enjoying being driven around albeit begrudgingly. It’s such a comfortable ride with more than enough space for me and my massive bump.  It features dual air-con with automatic climate control and a panoramic sun-roof. All the essentials you need in a car to combat the Sydney heat and keep this pregnant mum happy.

The Ford Kuga Titanium also comes with lots of mod cons to ensure an enjoyable ride including a built-in smart-phone charger (perfect for bloggers) and one of my fave features, the SYNC™ system.  You can call anyone just by saying their name, answer incoming calls, plug-in your music player, USB drive or bluetooth and play your favourite tunes. You can even ask SYNC to hear a specific artist, album or track and turn-on shuffle. All hands free! Now do you see why I don’t want to give the Kuga back and I get jelly if the hub is in the driver’s seat!

Anyway pardon me, I got distracted by the Kuga (it happens a lot). Back to the day trip! We love driving down to the Esplanade and catching that first glimpse of the water. Bub Stylista gets so excited screaming “Beach, beach!” The view is spectacular.

First stop though..lunch! We popped into the Beach House for obligatory fish and chips (the Boathouse is great too).  I’m sooo pregnant and could have sat there all day to be honest, the food was amazing and it’s always fun to people watch but Bub Stylista is the boss so we headed to the beach.

One of  the things I love about Balmoral is that even on a Public Holiday you are able to get a prime spot on the beach. There are panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, from Manly to Watson’s Bay and it’s surrounded by beautiful houses. You can always see expensive yachts bobbing in the ocean. What’s not to love?

It’s not a surf beach so the water is pretty calm and there are shark nets which always makes me feel much better! It’s also very clean, perfect for our little water baby to play in! To top it off there is a play area and rock pool for kids.

The Balmoral vibe is relaxing and low-key, all in all a great place for a fun, cruisy family day out. It’s the beach that has it all. You can have a dip between the rocks, enjoy a walk along the promenade, take the kids for a play and surf, or simply laze in the sun.  A truly beautiful harbour gem! Even the Ford Kuga insisted on taking in the views before embarking on the trip home!

Do you love Balmoral? What’s your favourite beach?
