Latest Trends Perfect for Pregnancy – THE CROP
You’re having a baby! Congratulations.
One of the best things about being pregnant (apart from the ‘little wonder’ growing inside of you) is the fun that comes with styling your bump. The clothing that you wear during this special time in your life should be an expression of how you feel about yourself and your journey into motherhood.
It is so important to be able to maintain your own unique sense of style and honour your love of fashion throughout your pregnancy with clothing that helps you to feel proud, confident, celebrated and beautiful.
This style series is all about providing you with ways that you can incorporate pieces from your existing wardrobe and the latest trends into your pregnancy wardrobe to ensure that you look and feel stylish.
The first trend of the series that is perfect for pregnancy and that you can have a lot of fun with is the CROPPED TOP (or cropped jacket, vest, blazer or cardi).
When done right the crop during pregnancy can be sexy, chic and sophisticated all at the same time. To ensure that your bump masters the cropped trend check out my top tips and fave looks below.
Top Tip #1
This one is for you if you dare to bare your bump and embrace the crop in all its midriff baring glory. Showing a little skin during pregnancy is perfectly fine, however I would recommend to try this look in the earlier stages of your pregnancy between months 3 and 6 (before your belly totally pops). Celebs who mastered the bump baring crop during pregnancy, include Kerry Washington and Doutzen Kroes – uber chic, huh?.
Top Tip #2
This one is for you if you want to wear the crop but don’t feel comfortable baring any skin. Try a looser fitting crop or a button front shirt tied into a crop layered over a maxi dress or high waisted skirt. Celebs who rocked this look include Kourtney Kardashian and Kristin Cavallari.
Top Tip #3
This one is for you if you prefer the layered crop look. Think cropped vests, jackets, blazers and cardigans layered over a maxi or long length tank. Celebs who loved to layer with crops during pregnancy include Christina Aguilera, Jess Alba, Nicole Richie, Kristin Cavallari and Vanessa Minnillo.
