I’m so honoured to be back on Mama Stylista’s blog with the second instalment of my pregnancy style series.

This style series is all about providing you with ways to incorporate the latest trends into your pregnancy wardrobe, so that you look and feel stylish.

Today I’m sharing ‘How to Wear a High Waisted Skirt When Pregnant’

This trend is my absolute favourite for pregnancy!

If you missed the first trend, ‘the CROP’ you can check it out here.

One of the best things about being pregnant (apart from the ‘little wonder’ growing inside of you) is the fun that comes with styling your bump. The clothing that you wear during this special time in your life should be an expression of how you feel about yourself and your journey into motherhood.

It is so important to be able to maintain your own unique sense of style and honour your love of fashion throughout your pregnancy with clothing that helps you to feel proud, confident, celebrated and beautiful.

The high waisted skirt is perfect for accentuating and complimenting your pregnant belly. High waisted skirts also look gorgeous on ALL body types, from petite through to curvy and full figured. So, no matter what shape or size you are, you can incorporate this trend into your pregnancy wardrobe.

There are 3 different styles of high waisted skirts that will rock your bump and have you looking and feeling sexy and stylish during your entire pregnancy.

Style #1 – Pencil Skirt

This style of skirt is for you if you have a case of the frumpy bump and desperately need to ‘bring sexy back’.

I would recommend trying the pencil skirt during your first and second trimester – between months 3 and 6 as the pencil skirt is quite fitted and can become uncomfortable once you have really ‘popped’.

The super sexy Kim Kardashian mastered the high waisted pencil skirt during her pregnancy.

Style #2 – Flared Skirt

This style is for you if you would prefer a less figure hugging option. The flared skirt is perfect for camouflaging any problem areas that might make you feel self-conscious during pregnancy. It’s also great for hiding your bump if you are still keeping your pregnancy a secret or hiding your post baby bump in those first few weeks after giving birth.

Celebs who rocked this look include Kim Kardashian, Blake Lively and Carrie Underwood.

Style #3 – Pleated Skirt

This style is my favourite style of skirt for pregnancy. Pleated skirts in a chiffon or light flowy fabric work best for pregnancy as the fabric flows over the bump perfectly without looking like a tent.

Kristin Cavallari loved this style of skirt during her pregnancy. Check out her uber chic pregnancy style below.

Really love the pleated skirt option! I lived in fit and flare shapes during my pregnancies.

Hi Lauren! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. The pleated skirt style is my fave too! I have seen so many style bloggers of ALL sizes rock this look. I love that it flatters women of all shapes and sizes and hangs so nicely over the bump 🙂
