My Style: Esprit Imperfect Campaign

I was so excited to be one of the faces of the Esprit Imperfect Campaign! The essence of the #ImPerfect campaign is that everyone is perfect just the way they are.

I would love to change a few things about my physical appearance, I have a massive scar on my left knee from a motorbike accident in my teens, I have stretch marks on my stomach and my breasts have gone south from breastfeeding. It’s ok though, that’s me.

But one of the things I struggle with the most is my knees. They tend to dislocate by themselves which has always hindered me in life.

I wasn’t able to ski with my kids on our recent trip to Perisher, I can only run short distances, the excercise I can do is limited and I experience discomfort constantly.

At school I was petrified at PE class and was always worried that my legs would give way and everyone would laugh at me (which happened sometimes). I would always think why me? Why can’t I walk and run like a normal person?

It is something I have always been self-conscious of all of my life and I have had to accept that it’s just the way it is. There are people in this world that deal with much worse!

I’m sure we all have something we would like to change, that we think would make our lives better but you know what…

I am perfect the way I am. I am alive, I am well and I am loved.
