When the Stylista Family were looking for somewhere to go during the school holidays we checked out Airbnb.
We opted to stay near The Entrance because there are lots of activities for the little ones even if it rains and it is surrounded by the most beautiful beaches.
I had never used Airbnb before and my first experience was extremely positive.
As usual I left everything until the last minute so most of the accommodation was unavailable but there were still lots of great options.
I couldn’t get over how easy the process was, I downloaded the app, selected my dates and the area I wanted to stay and I had my pick of great places to choose from.
The reviews came in handy in making a final decision.
Family Fun in Tumbi Umbi with AirBnB
I settled on a stunning house in Tumbi Umbi in the Central Coast. Tumbi Umbi is 15 mins away from The Entrance and 10 mins from Bateau Bay.
The house was also 5 minutes away from Shelly Beach, an absolutely gorgeous spot that I knew the kids would love!
But let’s talk about the house itself..
Decorated with a Hamptons vibe it was the perfect accommodation to relax and unwind even with the kids!
It literally had everything! It was the house that kept on giving, it even had Netflix!
Secluded and private, it was a huge property with a swimming pool, tennis court, makeshift soccer-pitch and fireplace.
The kids were in absolute heaven and so was my husband who used to play tennis professionally back in the day…apparently.
Did I mention there were horses in the next paddock? Seriously, could this place get any better?
My son’s prerequisite was that the house must have a pool and boy did this one nail the brief.
I mean just look at the size of it!
I was happy to admire it it from afar because even though the sun was out the water was cold but kids don’t care do they?!
Pool duty was the hubby’s job and the poor thing was freezing. I told him to ‘man up’ from my safe position on the sundeck with cup of tea in hand.
Surf’s up at Shelly Beach!
When we did manage to prize the kids away from the house we drove to Shelly Beach, one of the Central Coast’s most popular surfing beaches.
It has lots of rock walks which are great for exploring.
The water is clean and there are sand dunes for the kids to play in.
It is also dog friendly, unfortunately we didn’t bring our dog Duke with us but it’s good to know for the future!
There is a golf course too with ocean views if you’re that way inclined.
Fun at the fair
Who doesn’t love a ferris wheel?
We couldn’t go to Tumbi Umbi and not visit The Entrance especially when there is a fun fair on!
There are activities galore at The Entrance but we only went down for one evening because we were just staying for two nights and wanted to make the most of the house.
You can visit Tuggerah Lake for water-skiing, canoeing, sailing, rowing and sailboarding. The area is known for its huge pelican population, and every day at 3.30pm the pelicans assemble for feeding at a special pavilion in Memorial Park.
For the little ones, pay a visit to Vera’s Water Garden where kids can run through the water sprays and splash about in the wading pool.
There is also The Entrance, Terrigal and Ettalong beaches to choose from.
We’ll definitely be going back, we had a ball!
Bub Stylista didn’t want to leave our Airbnb homestay, I mean would you?
Just look at that face!
Our host was lovely and accommodating and let us have a late checkout which was just aswell because it took awhile to drag the kids out.
Thanks Airbnb for a fabulous weekend!
