My Style: MBFWA Day 1 – Thurley via Dress for a Night

So Mercedez Benz Fashion Week Australia (or #MBFWA as it’s known in the industry) rolled around again.

After experiencing London Fashion Week recently I must be honest but I wasn’t overly enthused this year.

I only decided to go at the last minute and realised I didn’t have anything to wear so I visited my favourite hire store Dress for a Night.

I found some fabulous dresses that I will be sharing over the next few days starting with this gorgeous number by Thurley.

The bead work is absolute perfection which is what Thurley is known for and I loved the white and gold detailing. I felt like Beyoncé and that’s never a bad thing right?!

I wore it with a pair of boots from Next Official and a Boohoo ripped denim jacket to make it a bit edgy.

I’m not the best at street style, I’m more of a classic girl. Did I do ok?

I had to make a quick dash home to get changed before school pick up! It’s not exactly Kindy appropriate!

Fashion Week was surprisingly quiet this year but I had a very busy first day.

I checked out the Alice McCall, Bianca Spender, Karla Spetic and Zhivago shows.

Zhivago was my absolute favourite – see below. The outfits were killer!!

ZHIVAGO’s homage to the dying days of Studio 54, ‘Miami Nights’ draws on the rising nightlife scene of South Beach, Miami, in the 1990s.

Seductive, sophisticated and undeniably fun!

The Miami Nights collection featured flirty dresses, show-stopping gowns and daring tailored separates, showcasing the label’s signature high voltage, figure-enhancing designs.

Hues included onyx black, indigo blue and wine red mixed with a darkly romantic digital print floral velvet and rainbow jewel-toned sequin-embellished floral lace. Designed were finished off with metallic gold gilded stitching and hardware buckle fastenings.

In a collaboration with Pit Viper Sunglasses, models strode the runway in gold-toned, ski goggle-inspired sunglasses engraved with “Miami Nights”.

The high-glamour makeup look and high-volume side swept waves upped the ante.

I was literally on the edge of my suit for the whole show.

FYI, I am getting that sequin lace suit!

Stay tuned for what I wore on Day 2!
